Lisa S. Brook

Partner, First Truth Law

Biography

Lisa Brook brings three decades of legal expertise to complex medical malpractice and personal injury cases. She delivers results through strategic litigation, effective negotiation, and skilled mediation.

Lisa has built her reputation over three decades by delivering results where it matters most. In Virginia state and federal courts, she has secured multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts for clients facing life-changing injuries. Her courtroom experience runs deep, from serving as first-chair counsel in jury trials to managing complex mass tort litigation involving hundreds of cases.

What sets Lisa apart is her strategic flexibility. Every case demands its own approach, and Lisa evaluates all pathways to resolution. Sometimes that means aggressive litigation; other times it means collaborative problem-solving. Her training as a mediator certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia opens doors that pure adversarial approaches cannot. She focuses relentlessly on achieving the best possible outcome for each client’s unique circumstances.

Lisa’s clients never wonder where their case stands. She explains complex legal matters in straightforward terms, ensuring clients understand their options, the litigation process, and every development along the way. Her communication style is direct and responsive—questions get answered promptly, and clients stay informed throughout their representation.

Her legal expertise extends beyond the courtroom. Lisa handles the full spectrum of personal injury and medical malpractice cases, but her background also encompasses settlement administration, real estate, and business law. This breadth proves invaluable when serious injury cases intersect with other legal issues, allowing her to address the complete picture rather than just one piece of it.

Efficiency drives Lisa’s case management approach. Having handled hundreds of complex cases, she knows how to move matters toward resolution without unnecessary delays. She coordinates expert witnesses with precision, manages discovery strategically, and handles settlement negotiations with the skill that comes from decades of experience.

Lisa earned her law degree from William & Mary Law School and began her career as a law clerk to administrative law judges. She has owned and operated a solo practice and has worked with attorneys at the highest level in Virginia and throughout the country. She is a certified mediator with specialized training from Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation.

Lisa practices throughout Southwest Virginia from her base in Charlottesville. She is admitted to practice in Virginia state courts, federal district courts, and the U.S Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
